Account and subscription
Q: How do I buy a plan?
Sign in, go to the "My Plans" page, choose a plan, fill in your billing details and pay by credit card. Billing is a recurring fixed charge that renews automatically each month.
Q: Can I have more than one instance at the same time?
Yes. Every plan you buy lets you create one independent OpenClaw instance. Each instance has its own subdomain, its own data and its own billing cycle.
Q: How do I cancel a subscription?
Find the subscription on the "Billing" page and click "Cancel". After cancellation the instance stops at the end of the current billing cycle.
Dashboard and connectivity
Q: I clicked "Open Dashboard" and it won't connect.
First check whether the instance status is "Running". If it isn't, click "Start". If it still won't connect, try restarting the instance.
Q: The dashboard says "origin not allowed".
Restart the instance from the RoamerHost dashboard; the system repairs the CORS configuration automatically.
Q: The dashboard says "token mismatch".
Click "Open Dashboard" again from the RoamerHost dashboard and the system will supply the correct token. Don't use an old bookmarked link.
AI models and API keys
Q: The agent replies slowly.
Reply speed depends on the AI model. Claude and GPT usually respond within 2-5 seconds. Check two things: that the API key is valid, and that the account still has credit.
Q: Can I use several AI models at once?
Yes. Once you've configured multiple API keys, OpenClaw picks the most suitable model automatically. You can also specify which model to use within a conversation.
Q: Can RoamerHost see my API key?
No. API keys are stored only inside your own OpenClaw container, and the RoamerHost platform cannot access them. See configuring your API key for details.
Managing your instance
Q: What's the difference between restarting and a reset and rebuild?
The difference is whether your data disappears, and it can't be undone: a restart keeps everything, while a reset and rebuild wipes the data inside the container. Here's the comparison.
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Restart | The container starts again; all data is kept |
| Reset and rebuild | All data is erased and the instance returns to its initial configuration (details) |
Q: Do I lose data when an instance is stopped?
No. Stopping only pauses the container and all data is kept. You can pick up where you left off after starting it again.
Q: How do I upgrade my plan?
Moving from Pro to Advanced doesn't require a new plan or a rebuild. Open your OpenClaw instance page under My Projects, click "Add Roamer AI (upgrade to Advanced)" on the Roamer AI card and pay at checkout. The upgrade takes effect as soon as payment goes through, and your lobster and its data stay exactly as they are. From then on each billing period charges the new plan's price, and the old plan's recurring payment stops automatically, so you're never billed twice.
A few limits: you can only upgrade within the same billing cycle (monthly to monthly, yearly to yearly); discount codes don't apply to upgrades; and if you've prepaid a period through early renewal, please contact us first at [email protected].
Use cases
Q: How is this different from a ChatGPT subscription?
With ChatGPT you open a web page and go talk to it; OpenClaw is an agent that runs continuously — it has its own workspace and memory, it can run on a schedule, report back on its own initiative, connect to Telegram and Discord, and actually work with files and web pages. One is a tool for looking things up and asking questions; the other is a virtual employee you hand tasks to.
Q: Can I schedule recurring tasks?
Yes. Just tell it in conversation: "every morning at eight, pull together this information for me." It creates the scheduled task itself, runs it automatically when the time comes and pushes the result to whichever messaging platform you've connected, so you never have to chase it.
Q: Can several people share one instance?
Yes, as long as you understand that one instance is one shared workspace: memory, files and conversation context are all the same single copy. Sharing within a family or a small team is fine; if people's needs differ a lot, give each person their own instance so they're completely isolated from one another.
Q: Can I use it on a phone?
The dashboard is a web page and opens fine in a mobile browser, but for everyday use we recommend connecting Telegram or Discord — issuing commands and receiving reports in a chat app you already use is far smoother than opening a web page.
Q: Roughly how much should I budget for model costs?
You only pay model costs when you use your own API key: Pro always needs one, while Advanced answers with Roamer AI by default (usage counts toward your daily allowance, with no separate model bill) unless you choose to add your own key. With your own key, it depends on the model and your usage: everyday text conversation plus a few daily scheduled tasks on a mid-tier model commonly lands somewhere between a few tens and a few hundred NT dollars a month. Heavy browser automation consumes considerably more tokens, because the whole page has to be processed. We recommend setting a usage cap in your model provider's console so it stops when the limit is reached and there's no risk of a runaway bill.
