8 prompts to a bold, color-pop sock shop

Same Roamer AI, same free design mode. This time we played POP SOX, an original-print sock brand, and put all the details and the feel we wanted into the very first message. The result looks nothing like the calm, airy Qingyu Tea site; you'd never guess the same AI built both.

Give the details and the feel in one go, then build the home page

Member

Hi! We're POP SOX, an original-print sock brand, and we want to use this WordPress site as our brand site and online store. Brand story: two illustrators design the prints together, and an old sock mill in Shetou, Changhua (Taiwan's sock capital) makes them in small batches. We launch new prints every season. Tagline: "Even your ankles deserve a good mood." Products: Watermelon Soda Socks NT$290, Banana Milk Socks NT$290, Mango Smoothie Socks NT$290, Color Pop 3-Pack (one pair of each) NT$790. Customers: young people aged 18–35 who love putting outfits together and sharing photos. No physical store, online only. Phone 02-2345-6789, email [email protected], customer service Mon–Fri 10:00–18:00. No logo. I want the style to be bold, with clashing pops of color: like the signs at a summer shaved-ice shop and street stickers. The colors can be loud, with lots of them used together, and the type should be big and fun, but it still has to be easy to read and easy to buy from. Not minimalist, not grayish, and not the white-background, blue-button look of a typical online store. You decide the design direction. Build the home page, header and footer first; once I've seen them and like them, we'll do the other pages.

Done: 7 actions

  • Set site name and tagline
  • Install Elementor
  • Design concept: "Ice Shop Signs × Street Sticker Wall"
  • Generate 8 product and street-style photos with AI
  • Write its own layouts and site-wide styles
  • Site-wide header, footer and menu
  • Screenshot desktop and mobile

Roamer AI

The home page and the site-wide header and footer are done and live. The design concept is "Ice Shop Signs × Street Sticker Wall": the logo, product cards, buttons and prices all have thick outlines and crisp, hard-edged shadows, and they're stuck on slightly crooked on purpose. Hover over one and it snaps straight. Below the header and above the footer runs the scalloped edge of an ice shop's red-and-white awning. The palette is drawn from the three flavors: watermelon red, banana yellow and mango orange, plus soda mint and soda blue, on a cream background. No grayish white, and no blue buttons.

Prompt tip

You can cover everything in your very first message: paste in your brand, products and prices, contact details and the feel you want, then end with "You decide the design direction; build the home page first and show me." It gets straight to work, with no back-and-forth first.

Like the home page? Build the rest in the same style

Member

Love the home page! Please switch the admin to Traditional Chinese. Next, build three pages in the same style: "Our Story," "Size & Care" and "Contact Us." Contact Us needs a form where people can leave a message. When they're done, point the menu to these pages. Size and care details: all socks are one size and fit feet 22–27 cm long. Material: 80% combed cotton, 17% nylon, 3% elastane. Care: turn inside out and machine wash cold in a laundry bag. Do not tumble dry, do not bleach.

Done: 6 actions

  • Switch the admin to Traditional Chinese
  • Generate 4 photos with AI
  • Build 3 pages
  • Four-panel comic, ruler, order-pad form
  • Create a contact form
  • Check with screenshots

Roamer AI

The admin is now in Traditional Chinese, and all three pages are built and live. Our Story tells how a pair of socks gets made in a four-panel comic; Size & Care has a yellow ruler marked from 20 to 29 cm, with the materials laid out as an ice shop "recipe card"; and the message form on Contact Us is styled as an "ice shop order pad." Halfway through, though, today's AI editing allowance ran out, so the menu is only partly updated. The screenshot check also found 3 styling issues (the message form's heading is covered, text overlaps on the recipe card, and the care cards overflow on the right on mobile). I'll fix them once the allowance resets.

Prompt tip

Put the real details the site needs, like sizes, materials and care instructions, in the same message. The AI designs them into fun sections (a ruler, a recipe card) instead of leaving them as a block of text.

After the reset・AI worked about 2 min

Say "continue" and it finishes the job

Member

The allowance has reset, so let's continue: add the three new pages to the menu, then fix those three styling issues.

Done: 5 actions

  • Add the 3 pages to the menu
  • Fix the message form heading
  • Fix overlapping text on the recipe card
  • Fix the care cards on mobile
  • Confirm with screenshots

Roamer AI

The menu is complete, and all three styling issues are fixed. I checked screenshots on desktop and mobile: no overlapping text, and no sideways scrolling on mobile. On the contact page, the red binding strip sat in the same spot as the background overlay built into the Elementor container. It's now drawn into the background, so the message form's "MEMO" heading shows in full.

Prompt tip

When the allowance runs out, the AI stops at a safe point and lists clearly what is done and what is left. Once it resets, just say "continue." (It ran out this time because we ran too many tests in a row on the same account.)

Try a different feel・AI worked about 8 min

Want to change just one section? Describe the feel

Member

All fixed, awesome! The four-panel comic on the Our Story page is so cute. There's one spot I'd like to give a different feel: the "Put them on · Snap · Jump" section on the home page. I'd like it to feel more like swiping through Instagram Stories on your phone, so people want to take photos and share them. Don't touch the other sections, and send me desktop and mobile screenshots when you're done.

Done: 6 actions

  • Redesign "Put them on · Snap · Jump"
  • Three phones playing Instagram Stories
  • Poll and hashtag stickers
  • Highlights circles
  • Other sections untouched
  • Desktop and mobile screenshots

Roamer AI

The "Put them on · Snap · Jump" section on the home page now has an Instagram Stories feel, and no other sections were touched. On the right, three phones are playing Stories: the middle one has a progress bar along the top, with a yellow hashtag sticker, a location sticker and a poll sticker that asks "Which pair are you wearing today?"; the two on either side are tilted, showing the previous and next Stories. Above the heading on the left, I added a row of "Highlights" circles. The poll sticker is just decoration: it can't actually be tapped to vote, and it doesn't show any fake poll results.

Prompt tip

To try a different feel, describe the picture you have in mind ("like swiping through Instagram Stories on your phone") and say "don't touch the other sections." The AI redesigns only that section, and it still matches the rest of the site.

Store, payment and shipping in one message

Member

So cute! We'll deal with the Instagram account later. Let's build the store: list all four products (the 3-pack counts as one product), use the product photos you generated earlier, and create two categories: "Single Pairs" and "Bundles." Change the "I want this pair" and "I want the 3-pack" buttons on the home page and other pages so people can buy directly. Enable bank transfer and cash on delivery. Bank account: E.SUN Bank (808), Xinyi Branch, account name POP SOX Co., Ltd., account number 0123-456-789012. Shipping: NT$80 for home delivery anywhere in Taiwan, free over NT$800. Once everything's set, open the store.

Done: 9 actions

  • Install WooCommerce
  • Create 2 categories
  • List 4 products
  • Turn buy buttons into Add to cart
  • Add a cart icon to the header
  • Enable bank transfer and cash on delivery
  • NT$80 delivery across Taiwan, free over NT$800
  • Show only free shipping above the threshold
  • Restyle store pages to match

Roamer AI

The store is officially open: all four products are listed, and payment and shipping are set up as you specified. I simulated two carts: the 3-pack alone comes to NT$790 + NT$80 shipping = NT$870; the 3-pack plus one more pair comes to NT$1,080 and ships free automatically. The shop, product, cart and checkout pages all share the same style as the home page. One more thing: the 3-pack is NT$790, just NT$10 short of the free-shipping threshold. If you want the 3-pack to ship free too, you could lower the threshold to NT$790.

Prompt tip

You can set up the whole store in one message: which products to list, the categories, the buttons, payment methods, account details, shipping costs and the free-shipping threshold. It even points out small pricing details along the way.

Test purchase・AI worked about 3 min

Place two test orders and number what looks odd

Member

I placed one test order on my computer and one on my phone. Both went through, and buying two 3-packs got free shipping automatically. A few things look off: 1. In the cart and on the checkout page, the shipping row says "貨物" (goods), which is confusing. It should be "運費" (shipping), right? 2. On the checkout page, the "Country/Region" field has shrunk to a tiny box that says "Taiwan." It looks broken 3. The privacy notice above the order button on the checkout page is in English 4. On the order confirmation page, the address shows as "台北市, 信義區 110" (city, district, postal code), but the Taiwanese way to write it is "110 台北市信義區..." (postal code first, then city and district) Also, please send new order notifications to [email protected]. Please fix these.

Done: 5 actions

  • Change "goods" to "shipping"
  • Hide the single-option country field
  • Privacy notice in Chinese
  • Taiwanese address format
  • New-order notifications to the brand inbox

Roamer AI

All four issues are fixed, and new order notifications now go to [email protected]. WooCommerce's Chinese translation had rendered shipping packages as "貨物" (goods); it now says "運費" (shipping). We only ship within Taiwan, so the country dropdown had just one option, which is why it shrank to a tiny box. That field is now hidden, and "Taiwan" is still filled in automatically in the background. The address now shows as "110 台北市信義區..." (postal code first), and earlier test orders display in the new format too.

Prompt tip

Before launch, always buy something yourself once on a computer and once on a phone. Number the problems you see and send them in one message; the AI works through and reports on each one.

Add the policy pages and check the whole site

Privacy policy (written to match how the site actually works)

Member

All correct now, thanks! Return and exchange rules: items can be returned or exchanged within 7 days of delivery if they're unworn and the packaging is intact. We pay shipping for defective items; for all other returns and exchanges, the customer pays shipping. Please write a return and exchange policy and a privacy policy as Chinese pages, publish them and put them in the footer. Finally, check the whole site once: look at every page on desktop and mobile, and tell me if it's ready to go public.

Done: 6 actions

  • Write a return and exchange policy page
  • Write a privacy policy page
  • Add "Shopping Info" to the footer
  • Screenshot every page on desktop and mobile
  • Flag that return shipping charges may break consumer law
  • Find sample content still public

Roamer AI

The layout and checkout flow are fine, and the return and exchange policy and the privacy policy are both published. But two things need handling before going public, and one of them is that your return rules may break the law. Article 19 of Taiwan's Consumer Protection Act says online purchases can be returned within 7 days without giving a reason and "without bearing any costs," so "for all other returns and exchanges, the customer pays shipping" may be illegal. I wrote it according to the rules you gave, but I suggest changing it to "we pay return shipping within 7 days." Also, the sample page and post that come with WordPress are still public on the site.

Prompt tip

Ask directly: "Is it ready to go public?" It tells you honestly if it isn't, and why. For legal issues like return shipping, it follows your rules first, then flags the risk and lets you decide.

Finishing touches・AI worked about 2 min

Apply the suggestions, then launch

Member

Go with your suggestion: we'll pay shipping for returns within 7 days. Delete the sample page, sample post and comments, and turn off comments on posts.

Done: 5 actions

  • Store pays return shipping within 7 days
  • Separate returns from flavor exchanges
  • Move sample page, post and comments to trash
  • Turn off post comments
  • Check order notification emails

Roamer AI

All three are done. The return and exchange policy now says: returns within 7 days need no reason, and we pay the return shipping; for defective items, we pay shipping both to send them back and to send replacements; to exchange for a different flavor, the customer pays shipping, or they can simply return the item if they'd rather not pay. The sample page and post are in the trash, and new posts no longer allow comments by default. While checking, I also found that order notification emails aren't being sent. I suggest having an engineer check the server's email sending first.

Prompt tip

When there's something it can't fix, it explains why and what to do next instead of pretending everything is fine. The email issue it caught this time was in the platform itself, and our engineers fixed it the same day.

Prompting guide

6 lessons from this conversation

1

Start in your first message

Paste your brand, products and prices, contact details and the feel you want all at once, add "build the home page first and show me," and it gets right to work.

2

The more specific the feel, the better

"Like the signs at a summer shaved-ice shop and street stickers" works better than "make it lively." Then say what you do not want (minimalist, grayish, white with blue buttons).

3

Changing one section? Say "leave the rest"

Describe the picture you want for that section. The AI redesigns only that section, and it still matches the rest of the site.

4

Set up the store in one message

Spell out the products, categories, payment, account details, shipping and free-shipping threshold at once. It sets everything up and runs the numbers itself.

5

Number the problems after a test buy

"The shipping row says goods," "the country field is a tiny box": list them one by one, and it fixes them one by one.

6

Out of allowance? Say "continue"

It stops at a safe point and lists what is left. Once the allowance resets, say "continue" and it finishes the job.
