FAQ

Before you start

NocoDB itself is open source and free, but self-hosting means renting a VPS at roughly US$5 to US$10 a month (about NT$160 to NT$320), so NT$1,900 to NT$3,800 a year in servers alone. You also deploy it with Docker, connect the database, set up the domain and SSL, keep up with releases and stay on top of daily backups. Managed NocoDB on RoamerHost is NT$499 a month, about NT$5,988 a year, and that includes one-click deploy, built-in SSL, a dedicated subdomain and automatic backups, with no cap on users or records. If you know DevOps and want full control, self-hosting is more flexible; if you just want to use it and never touch a server, managed is the easier path.

Airtable charges per user (around US$20 per user per month) and caps records and API calls, with your data living on Airtable's servers. NocoDB is an open-source project; on RoamerHost it is NT$499 a month with no user limit, no record limit and unlimited API calls, and your data stays entirely in your own container. Feature-wise you still get grid, kanban, calendar, form and the other views.

It does. NocoDB generates a REST API for every table automatically (read, create, update, delete) with API token authentication, so you can connect it to a website, an app, an n8n workflow or any other system and use NocoDB as your backend database without writing CRUD code yourself.

MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLite. You can point NocoDB at an existing MySQL or PostgreSQL database and it renders it as a spreadsheet immediately. You can also import CSV or Excel files, or migrate data over from Airtable, to get going fast.

No lock-in. RoamerHost runs the standard open-source build of NocoDB, and the data is simply your own database. Export to CSV or Excel whenever you want, or connect to the database directly and move everything to your own server or another environment.

Yes. Working in NocoDB feels a lot like Excel or Google Sheets — add columns, fill in data, drag to sort and filter — with no code anywhere. The API only shows up when you need it, which makes it work for beginners and power users alike.

Google Sheets is fine for simple records, but it bogs down as data grows and has no real relational structure or API. Airtable is full-featured but charges per user and imposes limits. NocoDB gives you the ease of a spreadsheet with the power of a database (relations, multiple views, an automatic API), and on RoamerHost with no user or record limits — a good long-term fit for a team.

NT$499/mo (1 vCPU / 5 GB storage), including SSL, a dedicated subdomain and automatic backups, with no setup fee. Pricing is not per user or per record — the only limits are your instance's storage and compute. Your whole team can use it, with permissions controlling who can see and edit each table.

In your own NocoDB instance: each instance is an isolated Docker container on its own network, never shared with other customers, with HTTPS on every connection. Your data is never mixed with other customers' data, and the platform includes automatic backups.

Yes, but it takes more than exporting a CSV and importing it: formula, link, rollup and attachment fields need extra work, and order matters — if the links are not set up first, rollups will be empty. See "Airtable to NocoDB" in the Support Center for the field mapping and the right order.

Yes. Monthly billing with no contract: cancel in one click from the dashboard and billing stops at the end of the current term; fees already paid for that term are not refunded. After expiry the instance is paused and your data is kept for 3 months, so renewing within that window restores everything as it was; after 3 months it is deleted. Export your data to CSV or Excel before you cancel to keep a copy.

Yes. At checkout, choose "Company invoice" under E-invoice and enter your company name and Taiwan Tax ID (統一編號) to receive a triplicate company invoice; individuals can choose "Personal receipt".

Yes. On the Free Trial page, pick NocoDB and leave your contact details — no credit card, nothing to install. Our team sets up a trial environment so you can try it before you decide.

Start with the dashboard: you can restart or rebuild the instance yourself, and a restart fixes most connection problems.
