How to Build a Company Website in 2026: Agency, Template or AI

Three common ways to get a company website: hire a design agency, use a template platform such as Wix, or build it with AI. We compare time, cost, who can edit it later and who holds the domain, plus the pages you need and pre-launch checks.

A company website has a simple job: help people who are looking for you find you, trust you once they've read it, and know how to get in touch. There are three common ways to get one built: hire a design agency, do it yourself on a template platform such as Wix, or build it with AI. All three can produce a decent site. They differ in how long it takes, what it costs, who can edit it afterward, and whether the site and domain stay in the company's hands. This article covers the pages a company site needs, then compares the time and cost of the three approaches.

Cost ranges come from the public quote statistics of PRO360, a Taiwanese freelance marketplace, and from each vendor's site, checked October 2026. Timelines are estimates based on typical processes and our members' experience; actual time depends on scope and how many rounds of revisions you go through.

The pages every company website needs

For most small and midsize businesses, five or six pages are enough. The home page should say in the first screen what you do, who you serve and where you are, with a clear contact button. About Us covers the company's background, team and way of working, which is where visitors go when they want to know whether you're a reliable business. Service or product pages explain each offering, who it's for and roughly how it's priced. If you can publish a price range, do it; it keeps people around far better than "call us for a quote".

If you have past projects or customer testimonials, give them their own page, since that's usually what business customers most want to see. Contact Us needs phone, email, address and map, opening hours and a message form, and you need to be sure the form's emails actually arrive. Finally, a privacy policy, which any site that collects personal data through a form should have. After launch, add the URL to your Google Business Profile and submit the site in Google Search Console so Google picks it up faster.

Approach one: hire a design agency

The typical process is a requirements interview, a quote, a proposal, design approval, building and loading content, testing and launch. If it goes smoothly that's about a month; with lots of back-and-forth, two or three months is common. The usual bottleneck isn't the agency but the copy and photos the company itself keeps not delivering. On cost, PRO360's quote statistics put a template-based company site at NT$20,000 to 50,000, one built on a site-builder platform at about NT$45,000 to 60,000, and fully custom from NT$100,000, usually with hosting, domain and maintenance extra.

The upside of hiring out is professional design and less work for you, which suits companies where brand image matters and a distinctive look is needed. The risk is the handover: domains held in the agency's account, admin accounts never handed over, the original freelancer no longer reachable. We see these often, and how to deal with them is in taking over a site nobody maintains. Writing the domain registrant, the admin account, source files and maintenance scope into the contract saves a lot of trouble later.

Approach two: do it yourself on a template platform

On a platform such as Wix or WordPress.com, you pick a template, replace the text and photos with your own, and after a few evenings to a few weekends you have a basic company site. The cost is the platform's yearly fee: Wix has a free plan that shows Wix ads and uses a subdomain, with paid plans priced by region; WordPress.com's Personal plan starts at US$4/mo billed yearly. Both per each vendor's site, checked October 2026.

It's the cheap route, but the time and quality are all on you. Making a template stop looking like a template is harder than it sounds, and the more you change the layout, the more likely the mobile version breaks. Also think ahead about whether you'll ever switch platforms: Wix states that sites run only on Wix's servers and can't be exported to another host, so switching means rebuilding.

Approach three: build it with AI

When AI builds the site, your time goes into preparing content, not layout. With WP × Roamer AI, for example, the site is installed about 60 seconds after payment. Open Roamer AI and describe in plain language what the company does, which pages you need and the feel you want; it lists a plan first, and once you confirm, it builds the pages, menu, contact form and SEO settings, then sends you desktop and mobile screenshots. One member on our showcase needed a company site with less than a week to go: they launched the site on day one, spent two evenings on the content, and had a live URL to hand over on day three.

The cost is WP × Roamer AI Pro at avg. NT$999/mo (billed yearly), with hosting, WordPress and business-tier Roamer AI included and no setup fee. Later, when the office address changes, a new team member needs a bio or you want to add a new case study, just ask it. The site is standard WordPress, so you can also edit it yourself in the admin or hand it to an agency later. How to break the costs down and which ones are easiest to miss is covered in What a website costs in Taiwan in 2026.

Checks before you launch

Whichever approach you take, it's worth spending half an hour walking through the site before going public. Scroll every page top to bottom on a phone and look for overlapping text or images spilling off the screen. Send the contact form yourself and confirm the email arrives; plenty of company sites go months without noticing their form never sends. Phone, address and opening hours should match your Google Business Profile, the site should be on your own domain, and the browser should show the padlock.

Fill in the SEO title and description for every page instead of using the company name everywhere, delete WordPress's built-in sample post and sample page, and add a privacy policy if you have a form. If AI built the site, you can simply ask it to "check the whole site, look at every page on desktop and mobile, and tell me if it's ready to go public", and it will list what still needs work. Setting up your own domain is covered in connecting a custom domain to WordPress.

How to choose

If you're a small or midsize business in Taiwan with no engineer, want a company site within a week, and want someone to look after it afterward: choose WP × Roamer AI Pro, avg. NT$999/mo (billed yearly), and handle both the build and later edits by talking to the AI. If brand image is central to the company and you need a distinctive look or custom features, and the budget is there: hire a design agency and put the domain, admin account and maintenance scope in the contract. If you only need a one-page business card with your phone number and address: Wix or Canva is enough. If someone at the company knows WordPress and is happy to do the work: WordPress Basic, avg. NT$299/mo (billed yearly).

You can compare both plans on the WP × Roamer AI plans page, and your site is up about 60 seconds after payment. For the bigger picture of building a website with AI, see the AI Website Builder Guide 2026.

FAQ

Q: Do I have to hire a design agency for a company website?

Not necessarily. If you need a distinctive brand design, complex features or integration with internal company systems, an agency is the safer bet. Most small business sites are five or six pages of introduction, and a template platform or AI produces good enough quality for that. More important than who builds it is clear content and keeping the domain and admin account in the company's hands.

Q: How long does it take to build a company website?

An agency typically takes one to two months, longer with many revisions. Doing it yourself on a template depends on your free time, usually a few evenings to a few weekends. With AI, the site is up in minutes and the first version usually takes one to five days. In all three, the most time-consuming part is the same: preparing copy and photos.

Q: Once the site is live, how do I get Google to find it?

Verify the site in Google Search Console and submit a sitemap, then add the URL to your Google Business Profile. Each page needs a clear title and description, and the content should cover your services, service area and real case studies. An SEO plugin on WordPress generates the sitemap; with WP × Roamer AI you can ask Roamer AI to set the SEO title and description for every page.

Q: Can I get an invoice for the website costs?

Local design agencies can usually issue a Taiwanese uniform invoice. Overseas platforms mostly bill in USD, and even when they issue a cloud invoice, check with your accountant how to book it as a company expense. RoamerHost bills in NT dollars, and at checkout you can choose a company invoice with your Tax ID.
